Tradition 3

This is a good thing :D I thought when I first went to AA that I might have to sign up, pay some sort of few, and maybe they would keep track of if and when I drank.

Thank God, the only requirement is I just have to have a desire to stop drinking.

This tradition was designed for:
1: The member. If I/they go back drinking we can come in and out anytime we want. If I say I am a member I am a member.
2: The group, or other members. As a member(s) I/we don't have an issue/problem or any say that someone might be struggling in and out with their sobriety.

Thank goodness for this tradition. When I came in I knew drinking was starting to control my life and that I wanted to stop. However it took me several relapses over 4 years as well as many meetings, lots of reading and piles of llistening to other members inside meeting rooms or out to muster the willingness to do so.

Today, I don't intend to drink. Today I will talk to God, read some AA literature and attend a meeting. I know that if I stumble along my path though, the doors of AA will remain open to me. I am blessed.

I never knew about this tradition.. or well not at 1st.
But yes good thing for it.
I would have been kicked out of AA along time ago if their were requirements.
